RDS has made it official: the all-sports network will offer its Canadiens telecasts on the Internet at rds.ca this season.
RDS is selling a season package for $80. Subscribers can also buy 30 days of streaming for $20 or individual games for $3. RDS is taking orders at http://www.rds.ca/zonedematch
Two pre-season games, on Sept. 23 and Oct. 4, will be streamed for free.
Because the NHL holds rights to streamed hockey in the U.S. the RDS feed is available to North American fans only in Canada. But the service, which RDS is calling La Zone du MatCH, will be available in most of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
• In conversation with François Gagnon, Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault heaps praise on Alex Tanguay, says he killed the Canucks every time they played Calgary.
